# `Intl.DurationFormat` update and normative PRs
### Ben Allen, 102nd TC39

### This is very much *not* a 30 minute update
* (honestly, it's closer to five minutes)
---
# Not a 30 minute update
* We remain perilously close to asking for Stage 4 for DurationFormat
* Editorial refactor in progress
* We have one small normative PR
* Adding testing for recent normative PRs
---
### Turn useGrouping false for hours & smaller units when style is 2-digits or numeric
https://github.com/tc39/proposal-intl-duration-format/pull/198
* Fixes edge case: previously digital-clock styles (`"numeric"` and`"2-digit"`) would format very long hour, minute, and second values using grouping separators
* This badly breaks the "digital clock" metaphor
* Change approved by TG2
* (see example next slide)

### Example
```javascript
df.format({hours: 20, minutes: 3, seconds: 1234567})
// Old: 20:03:1,234,567
// New: 20:03:1234567
```
